Ellen + Nick | Feature Film

Ellen and Nick are a perfect example of why we love doing elopements. This relaxed and understated yet deeply beautiful occasion was a pleasure to shoot. There was no city noise or stressful schedule. There were no guests, no worries; just Ellen, Nick and their love for one another.

It can be easy to fall into the trap of planning every minute detail of a big, elaborate wedding, only to find yourself on the day wishing you had prioritised quality time between you and your partner instead. Of course those elaborate weddings are perfect for some people! But for a lowkey kind of couple who just want a special day to celebrate their love, you might want to take notes from Ellen and Nick, who unapologetically indulged themselves in a whole day to purely enjoy each other’s company.

Under a canopy of redwoods and string lights, Nick recited his strikingly poetic vows to a beaming Ellen. Later, over a picnic they packed themselves, full of all their favourite treats, Ellen strummed sweetly on the guitar. Every moment, every detail, was personal and intimate. The love radiated between them as they lived out what seemed to be their perfect day together. Their joy was constant and contagious.

It’s easy to see that Ellen and Nick are not just lovers but the absolute best of friends, and we know from experience that that’s one of the most important ingredients in a successful marriage. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of what we’re sure will be a very long story.
