Thank you for loving me - Extended
When I met this couple I had no idea how much it would shock me. Yes, because we are used to the perfect wedding, the one full of details, carriages, shows of all kinds. For this couple it was instead a moment of awareness, of discernment. An inner journey that was intertwined with the disease, that black and suffocating monster that upset their lives, hers... She, with signs of an important experience, a calm and decision never seen before in wanting to thank her husband, the his traveling companion... as in "The Lord of the Rings" (another element to which the couple is very close) when Frodo is about to give up Sam arrives: "Master Frodo I can't carry the ring for you, but I can carry you!" in the same way the groom could never have carried the burden of the illness, but it was the only reason, the only strength, the only destiny that the bride had to get out of it... And this is their day, the day in which the bride, with a long letter, will retrace their story and thank her husband for what he has done for her...all plans fall apart, everything takes second place, everything becomes futile, because what matters is walking together when the nothing else can make it to get far together.
