"This is actually an arranged marriage"

Their mothers were best friends when they were very young, and always hoped one day, mayyybeee.... "you're son... & my daughter..." and GUESS WHAT, it HAPPENED!!! ???? Calvin and Hannah were literally generations in the making, one of those stories that someone goes and makes a movie about! You better believe we were over the moon to be there for their wedding day and to tell their story ❤️

We started the day with Hannah getting ready in her childhood home. It reminded me of the beauty and the beast castle. A large room of books stacked on shelves from top to bottom, rustic yet elegant decor and overgrown vines. Hannah's mom was responsible for the wedding decor and food, all of which was amazing! Not a planner, just incredibly talented!!!! Calvin's brother had one of THE MOST memorable speeches EVER, maybe slightly cringe worthy but funny and courageous at the same time. A line from his speech literally took three people to decipher as it was spoken in such an intellectual manner. Myself, Rafa and his brother, the there of us at the dining room table eating tacos, racking our brains trying figure it out haha, such an eloquent speaker.

A note from behind-the-cameras, this had been one of the few weddings this year where we hadn't done a pre-wedding shoot, which usually gives us a chance to get to know our couples more on a personal level. We learn their story and start to get ideas going in our minds. But as observers of their wedding day, and especially in the editing room, we get to see everything. And what we've witnessed is what wonderful people they are and what a talented, caring, and beautiful group of people inside & out that they surround themselves with. So honored to be able to tell their very unique story, sounds cheesy but its oh so true.
