Justine & Josh | Rutherfordton, NC
Each film I work on is deeply personal to me. I think it's only fair to be transparent, and the reality is that when you work with me you're not just hiring me to film your wedding. You're asking me to look through my lens and show you what I see. I made this film for Justine and Josh, but I can't remove myself from it either.
Having spent the weekend with both of them I know that they are both very intentional, spend time meditating and practicing mindfulness, and generally try to embrace all the moments life gives. It is not, then, a surprise that I found a lot of different ingredients when going through their film to put together something that isn't just representative of their wedding day, but actually began speaking back to me, reminding me that life is short and we need to really live while we can.
This brevity began to be reflected with imagery of water - all things flow and are in constant motion. Their dog, Tamani, also became symbolic for me but I'm not sure I can quite define what she means. I just know that for all the intentional things I did to create this film, some of the best moments were completely unplanned. I could drone on and on, but I'd rather you watch the film with some kind of openness and hopefully be reminded that today is what we have - squeeze the most out of life.
